Economista especializado en temas de Economía Internacional, Desarrollo y Crecimiento Económico. Antes de incorporarse a esta universidad trabajó en el Banco Mundial, Washington DC. Con anterioridad trabajo en el Centro de Economía Aplicada del Departamento de Ingeniería Industrial y en Cieplan (Corp. Investigaciones Economicas para Latinoamerica). Recientemente ha sido consultor del Banco Mundial, Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, Instituto de Desarrollo de Korea, Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Cieplan. Durante los años 2008-2009 fue visiting fellow del Centro de Innovacion de la Universidad de Sussex, SPRU, tambien fue visiting sholar del University College of London. El profesor Bravo-Ortega cuenta con distintas publicaciones internacionales.

I am an economist specialized in Economic Growth and Innovation, but I also do some research in International Economics and Political Economy. Before joining the University of Chile I worked at the World Bank, Washington, DC. Previously I worked for the Center for Applied Economics, at the Industrial Engineering Department and in Cieplan (Corporación de Estudios para Latinoamérica). I have also worked as a consultant for the World Bank, Inter American Development Bank, Korean Development Institute, Cieplan and the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the academic year 2008-2009 I was visiting Scholar at Department of Economics at UCL, and Visiting Fellow at SPRU in the University of Sussex. My favorite hobby is photography.
