Eduardo Engel enseña economía en la Facultad de Economía y Negocios de la Universidad de Chile y en Yale University, y es investigador asociado del NBER y del International Growth Centre. Los estudiantes graduados de economía en Yale lo eligieron Profesor del Año el 2001, 2003, 2009 y 2011. Ha publicado extensamente en las áreas de macroeconomía, finanzas públicas y regulación, incluyendo trabajos en el Journal of Political Economy, Econometrica, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics y Journal of the European Economic Association. Recibió la Frisch Medal de la Econometric Society, junto a Ricardo Caballero, el 2002. Recientemente finalizó un libro sobre concesiones de infraestructura, junto a Ronald Fischer y Alexander Galetovic. Contribuye con una columna quincenal al Diario La Tercera. Tiene un Ph.D. en Economía del MIT, un Ph.D. en Estadística de Stanford University y es ingeniero civil de la Universidad de Chile.
Eduardo Engel teaches Economics at Yale University and the University of Chile and is research associate at the NBER and the International Growth Centre. Yale's graduate students in economics voted him Teacher of the Year in 2001, 2003, 2009 and 2011. He has published extensively in the areas of macroeconomics, public finance and regulation, including papers in the Journal of Political Economy, Econometrica, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Journal of the European Economic Association. He was awarded the Econometric Society's 2002 Frisch Medal, jointly with Ricardo Caballero. He recently finished a book on public-private partnerships, co-authored with Ronald Fischer and Alexander Galetovic. He writes a regular column for the Chilean newspaper La Tercera. Engel holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT, a Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University, and an engineering degree from the University of Chile.
